This jacquard purse is an extract from the famous tapestry of Queen Matilda, now in the Bayeux Museum in Normandy. It appears to have been commissioned by Odon de Bayeux, the half-brother of William the Conqueror, and describes the events surrounding the Norman conquest of England in 1066.

This extract shows a drakkar and his crew going to war.

History Bayeux

All our products are designed, woven and made in France, in Lys-lez-Lannoy, in our workshops that have been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label. They are made using authentic know-how, on a traditional Jacquard loom with over 14,000 threads.

Our cosmetic bags and purses are woven from cotton, lined with a light fabric and supplied with a metal “Fleur de Lys” jewel.
